This is the sequel to the hit documentary series on the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Jejak Rasul – Muhammad, the Last Messenger, filmed on location by the TV3 crew (Malaysia) and headed by Haji Zainal Ariffin. Jejak Rasul 13 was broadcasted on TV3 during the month of Ramadan 1438H/2007 and it is now available on DVD. The 30 episodes in this series brings you on a journey of the lives of the Prophet’s Companions, starting from the four Khalifahs, namely Saidina Abu Bakr As-Siddiq r.a., Saidina Umar Al-Khattab r.a., Saidina Uthman bin Affan r.a. and Saidina Ali bin Abi Talib r.a. , to the other companions such as Khalid bin Walid, Amar bin Yasir, Salman alFarisi, Abu Darda and AbuDzar alGhifari, to name but a few.
The episodes highlight significant events in the Companions’ lives and their struggles as they strive to uphold the divine mission that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had taught them. Viewers will be able to travel with the narrator throughout the then Muslim Empire , starting from Makkah and Madinah to lands as far away as Egypt and Turkey in search of the sites where the Companions had travelled to spread the message of Islam.
Several episodes in this series are dedicated to As-Salam USA, which features several leading Muslim figures in the United States who have made significant contributions to Islam and the deveolpment of the Muslim ummah there. Among them are Imam Al-Faisel ArRauf, leader of New York City mosque and Ibrahim Hooper, director of communications at the Council of American Islamic Relations, Washington D.C. There is also an exclusive interview with former heavyweight boxing champion, Muhammad Ali.
The focus throughout this series is on the spirit of the Prophet's teachings and on the lessons that should be derived from them for our daily lives. The historical places and events are presented in a simple, informative style with beautiful scenes so that everyone may understand and enjoy them.
